The operative assessment in the case of a blepharoplasty allows us to be certain on the absence of contraindications such as history of certain diseases eye, coagulation disorders, etc.

Some recommendations are to be observed before proceeding with the blepharoplasty or cosmetic surgery of the eyelids :

• It is important not to take of aspirin during the 10 days that prior to the intervention of the blepharoplasty.
• It is also important to fast 6 hours prior tothe procedure, i.e., do not eat or drink anything, especially if the surgeon performs an anesthesia general.
• The patient must quit smoking for a period of at least 1 month before the surgical intervention and also for the entire next month the intervention.

It is important to note that blepharoplasty in Turkey is a minimally painful procedure. For a period of 7 days after the operation, the patient can see appearing swelling, which is normal. These swelling can be relieved by cold compresses prescribed by the surgeon.

The patient may also see the appearance of dry eyes and sensitivity to the light during the first days after the intervention. This can be relieved by a moisturizing eye drop.

Taking antibiotics is also prescribed in the case of a possible eye infection (which is very rare).
